Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, gold medalist at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and once described by Van Cliburn himself as "an absolute miracle... his performances have a healing power," returns to the Hong Kong Philharmonic after their 2023 collaboration on Ravel's piano concerto. This time, he brings Shostakovich's joy-filled Second Piano Concerto, his nimble touch once again stirring the hearts of music lovers. Finnish conductor Hannu Lintu, a Grammy nominee for his recordings of Rautavaara's works, presents the composer's Seventh Symphony, "Angel of Light" — a profound piece steeped in spirituality and dreamlike atmosphere.
