About the show

How does a devout and innocent righteous man endure the trials set by God and Satan? *JOB: Fateful Fever Dream* is the debut original rock musical from Hong Kong-based independent performing arts group The Bootstrap Theatre HK, adapted from the Bible — one of the world's most profound, inspiring, and timeless ancient literary classics. The story follows Job as he successfully leads his people from their war-ravaged homeland to an island far from violence and destruction; however, God allows Satan to test Job's faith, stripping him of everything — his wealth and achievements, his family, his health, and all that he holds dear in life. The work uses a fresh theatrical language to reinterpret eternal and deeply relevant themes: faith, divine justice, human suffering, and the mystery of God. Written, composed, and directed by multiple award-winning Filipino theatre artist William Elvin Manzano (William Elvin Manzano), this marks his first musical to be staged outside Manila. The production brings together a diverse, cross-cultural cast, led by seasoned musical theatre performer Felix Rivera (Felix Rivera) in the title role of Job. Performed in English with unallocated seating, it offers audiences a soul-stirring rock musical experience.
