About the show

City Contemporary Dance Company's brand-new "Yiyiyu (熠熠炅)" series hands the stage over to the company's young dancers — who are both dancers and choreographers — in the blazing heat of a world in full gallop. Crossing the boundaries of identity, they blend creative thoughts with moving bodies, like seeds sprouting, brewing a ready-to-burst bloom. Summer sunlight falls like a spotlight as dancers turn inspiration and physique into blossoms, releasing their essence to the rhythm. Two programmes, ten works. Wild growth, ultimate brilliance — all for this moment. This is the first midsummer of "Yiyiyu (熠熠炅)". Curated by City Contemporary Dance Company Artistic Director Sang Jijia (桑吉加), with dramaturgy by Leung Hiu-tuen (梁曉端). Programme One is choreographed by An Tsz-wun (安子桓), Ko Sing-ting (高聖庭), Wong Tang-sang (黃騰生) and Alliah Xandra Torte (Alliah Xandra TORTE); Programme Two by Chan Doi-man (陳代雯), Chan Ka-man (陳嘉文), Jon Henri Ferrer (Jon Henri FERRER) and Yang Yu (楊宇), Hon Suk-yin (韓淑賢) and Shum Pui-ying (岑珮榕), Li Xi-zi (李昔姿), and Yao Xinyue (姚欣玥). Performing dancers include An Tsz-wun (安子桓), Chan Doi-man (陳代雯), Chan Ka-man (陳嘉文), Jon Henri Ferrer (Jon Henri FERRER), Ko Sing-ting (高聖庭), Hon Suk-yin (韓淑賢), Wong Tang-sang (黃騰生), Chiang Hsu-ling (蔣旭凌), Li Xi-zi (李昔姿), Shum Pui-ying (岑珮榕), Alliah Xandra Torte (Alliah Xandra TORTE), Yang Yu (楊宇), and Yao Xinyue (姚欣玥).
