Tai Kwun Contemporary presents the first major solo exhibition in Asia for Anne Imhof, winner of the Golden Lion at the 2017 Venice Biennale — "Anne Imhof: 天鵝社." Centered on a monumental commissioned work, the exhibition delivers an immersive, multi-sensory experience through atmosphere-shaping scenography, sound installations, and live performances. Imhof juxtaposes classical art forms such as oil painting, bronze sculpture, and ballet with elements of urban infrastructure, creating a gallery space charged with tension. Against a chaotic urban backdrop, "天鵝社" unfolds as a fictional future narrative, telling the story of a formidable heroine embarking on a quest for love. During the opening period, the artist's long-term collaborators, including internationally renowned musicians and dancers, will join forces with dancers from the Hong Kong Ballet for special performances. Throughout the exhibition, ballet performances will take place in the gallery on select days, featuring collaborations between the Hong Kong Ballet and international teams, as well as adapted renditions by the Hong Kong Ballet, offering audiences a unique moment where ballet and contemporary art intertwine within the gallery space.
