About the show

When the storm of unemployment hits, the salaryman husband completely collapses, turning into a puddle of mud. His manga artist wife faces the toughest storyboard of her life — should she burn her creative spirit alone to turn the tide, or sink into the abyss with her husband? When an unusual pet and a mysterious passerby suddenly crash into the scene, is this motley crew a band of saviours, or a whole heap of trouble? "Shrimp Crackers Got the Blues (蝦子餅得了憂鬱症)" takes you on a light-hearted, humorous journey to witness how a couple finds their way back to each other from the brink of collapse. Produced by Little Gold Deer Entertainment (小金鹿娛樂), starring To Siu-kiu (杜小喬), Chiu Yi-hui (趙伊褘), and Wong Hing-yiu (黃慶堯), this play is adapted from the best-selling Japanese manga "Tsure ga Utsu ni Narimashite." The original work is based on the real-life experiences of author Hosono Tenten (細川貂貂) and her husband Mochizuki Akira (望月昭), depicting the couple's journey through treatment and life changes after the husband is diagnosed with depression. It highlights the importance of warmth, empathy, family support, and mental health — a real-life serialisation filled with laughter and tears.
