About the show
Seventeen-year-old Ah Tat dreams of becoming a baseball player. After a fierce argument with his mother about his future, he storms out of the house in anger. Seventy-eight-year-old Uncle Hau has spent his life farming, and only wishes to protect the orchard left to him by his beloved—but he now faces the threat of eviction. Through his uncle's introduction, Ah Tat works for Uncle Hau in exchange for lodging, seeking a place to stay. Meanwhile, a storm is quietly approaching... May you be free wherever you go—two strangers separated by more than sixty years are forced to coexist under one roof. Their conflicts, struggles, and understanding will reveal the answer to fate in the midst of this storm. "Migratory Birds" was a selected work from the first edition of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre's "Kite Programme", and was one of the five finalist plays of that edition. After two rounds of script readings and refinement, the play is now brought to the stage by the theatre company "Pencil Production", featuring lead actors including Chung Yik-chun (鍾奕俊), Tang Wai-kit (鄧偉傑), Leung Tin-chek (梁天尺), Chung Yik-sau (鍾益秀), Mung Kit (蒙潔) and Leung Cheuk-yu (梁倬瑜). This is a story about two generations, exploring freedom and bonds, dreams and protection. Suitable for ages 12 and above.
