About the show

The fourth edition of the Fenglei Dance Platform, "Divine Comedy · You (神曲・你)", is organised by Fenglin Shanhai Dance Production (風臨山海舞蹈制作) and co-organised by Beijing LDTX Modern Dance Company (北京雷動天下現代舞團). It will be held in July 2026 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Theatre. With the theme "Blossoming on the Ground (落地開花)", the platform focuses on Chinese modern dance companies founded and developed between 2010 and 2025, presenting six modern dance works. It will feature a special opening performance by the Hong Kong Dance Company (香港舞蹈團) and its guest choreographers Shi Xuan (施璇) and Zhou Niannian (周念念). Among the works, "Divine Comedy (神曲)" is performed by Eagle Theatre (鷹劇場, Beijing), which was praised by the French newspaper *Le Monde* as: "21 minutes of wonderland and dream." — Remove the hands, remove the feet, remove movement... When the body's range of motion is compressed to its limit, how can dance still exist? "You (你)" is performed by Banshan Dancer (半山舞人, Changsha), originating from a longing for emotion, attempting to express inner feelings and thoughts through a unique form. Through a series of stories, it draws the audience into a universe that touches the senses and the subconscious, exploring the tension between beauty and madness, desire and transformation, as well as the integration of inner demons. The choreographers are Yu Jinying (余錦鷹), Hu Jing (胡靜), and Luc Jacobs (盧克・雅各布斯, Belgium), with Hu Jing also serving as the lead dancer. The platform's works vary in style, from extreme physical experiments to explorations of emotional universes, suitable for audiences interested in cutting-edge modern dance creation, physical aesthetics, and soul-searching. This is a dialogue on the boundaries of body and emotion — the minimalism and eruption of dance, blossoming on the ground within the trajectory of Chinese modern dance companies over the past fifteen years.
