About the show
In this poetic and imaginative chamber music concert, three outstanding Hong Kong musicians — violinist Brian Choi (蔡君揚), cellist Wong Ka Lap (黃家立), and pianist Joanne Li (李玟鋗) — will guide the audience on a sonic journey spanning the Classical, Romantic, and Modern eras. Centred on the inspiration of Debussy's *The Girl with the Flaxen Hair*, the programme is infused with a crystalline, tender, and slightly dreamy hue throughout. From the spirited exuberance of Haydn's *Gypsy Rondo*, the graceful serenity of Saint-Saëns' *The Swan*, and the dark depth of Beethoven's *Ghost* Trio's second movement, to the passionate rhythms of Piazzolla's *Spring in Buenos Aires*, the contemporary sounds of Takashi Yoshimatsu's *Three White Landscapes*, and the nimble humour of Cassadó's *Dance of the Green Goblin* — the repertoire unfolds like a series of vibrant tone paintings, weaving together a young girl's fantastical world. The concert concludes with the final movement of Brahms' Piano Trio No. 3, bringing a warm and profound end to this dreamlike prelude. Presented by Yan Lok Wui (仁樂會) as the first instalment of the "Notes Weave Dreams vol.1" series, this concert features free seating and no age restrictions, welcoming all music lovers to immerse themselves in a dreamscape woven from notes and share in the girl's wondrous, dreamy prelude.
