About the show
"Moistening Things Silently" — a musical journey that transcends geography and media, led by percussionist Yau Hau-lam (邱巧琳) and Taiwan-born, US-based cellist Yeh Tzu-hsuan (葉子萓), guiding the audience from the auditory to the visual, immersing them in a richly layered world of contemporary art. The first half draws inspiration from Hong Kong and Taiwanese culture, presenting multiple works including premieres of commissioned pieces by Professor Chan Hing-yan (陳慶恩) of the University of Hong Kong and Professor Sang Lei-bok (桑磊栢) of National Kaohsiung Normal University; the second half shifts into a contemporary context, blending electronic music and theatrical elements to forge a novel sound experience. New York University visual artist Chu Pei-en (朱佩恩) further interacts with the live music through diverse visual media, weaving sound and image into an unforgettable sensory journey. Organiser and percussionist Yau Hau-lam (邱巧琳) personally interprets this performance, specially inviting Taiwanese cellist Yeh Tzu-hsuan (葉子萓) to Hong Kong for the collaboration. The works range from traditional to contemporary, from static performance to theatrical interpretation, with each movement revealing deep resonance within its subtlety. The free-seating, relaxed atmosphere brings the audience closer to the dialogue between artists and music — just as the title suggests, "moistening things silently," feeling the power in the most delicate of changes.
