About the show
The Kamēr... Youth Choir from Latvia, the New Zealand Secondary Students' Choir, and Hong Kong's The Madness Singers (瘋之聲) will present a cross-border joint concert at the 2026 World Choral Festival – Hong Kong. Kamēr... is the only amateur choir in the world to have won the Grand Prix of the European Choir Games four times; the ellipsis in their name symbolises "while we are still young, anything is possible." They are known for their unique vocal style and visually striking musical projects, maintaining a professional standard. The New Zealand Secondary Students' Choir is exclusively for students aged 13 to 18, selected through national auditions, and has represented the country on international stages multiple times, winning the highest award, "World Choir Games Champion," at the World Youth Choral Festival. The Madness Singers (瘋之聲), founded in 2021, aims to nurture the next generation of choral talent and has already made a name for itself in international competitions such as Arezzo, Italy. This concert is organised by the World Youth Choral Artists Association and will be led by Kamēr... Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Jurģis Cābulis, Conductor Patriks Kārlis Stepe; New Zealand Secondary Students' Choir Music Director and Conductor Susan Densem; and The Madness Singers (瘋之聲) conductors Wong Sze-hang (黃思恆) and Wu Tsz-hin (胡子軒). The programme will showcase classic repertoire and choral essence in each group's distinct style, suitable for audiences who appreciate vocal artistry, the potential of youth choirs, and cross-cultural exchange.
