This year, Hong Kong Shakespeare’s Annual Performance 2026, *As You Like It: An Olympian Tale*, reimagines Shakespeare’s classic comedy through the world of Greek mythology — when the gods’ mischief meets human expectations, the stage invites you to ponder: what is identity, transformation, and freedom? The audience will step into Olympus, a world where gods rule the skies and mortals dare to challenge fate; the Forest of Arden transforms into a realm of exile, metamorphosis, and wonder. When you buy a ticket, you’re not just supporting a performance — you’re helping young people grow through the arts; your ticket supports this free, professional drama learning programme, allowing Hong Kong’s youth to build confidence, enhance communication skills, and forge connections within the community. Adapted and directed by Bowie Pau (鮑禮光), based on Shakespeare’s *As You Like It*, Hong Kong Shakespeare’s Annual Performance 2026 invites 100 young people — including 60 young actors aged 8 to 16, along with a group of young musicians and backstage assistants — to embark on a six-week transformative journey. Over the summer, they rehearse a full Shakespeare play in English, guided by professional theatre practitioners, accompanied by a live orchestra, with stunning costumes and professional lighting, for three public performances at the Auditorium of Kwai Tsing Theatre.
