A squatter hut in Tin Sam Sun Village carries the memories of three generations of the Lai family, and ties a family to the entanglements with the land. Facing government land resumption, the protagonist chooses to cooperate actively, yet embarks on a journey to explore the family's history in the process — what is being demolished is not just bricks and tiles, but also the emotions and identities passed down through generations. "Home Demolition (冚家拆)" is helmed by To Ling-fung (杜玲鋒), with a solo performance by Lai Chai-ming (黎濟銘), telling the bittersweet story between people and land in Cantonese. Last year's premiere of "Home Demolition (冚家拆)" received an enthusiastic response, with laughter and tears, and all eight performances sold out. This year, "City Theatre Festival x Home Demolition (城市劇藝節 x 冚家拆)" sincerely adds an extra performance on 9 August (Sunday) at 8pm. Lai Chai-ming (黎濟銘) and Elephant Creative (大象創作) join hands once again, using a solo performance to traverse the memories of three generations, restoring the weight of a squatter hut on stage.
