About the show

The German Gentlemen’s Choir (德國紳士合唱團) consists of four male vocalists from Berlin. They first met as children in one of Germany’s most renowned boys’ choirs, the Berlin Cathedral Choir (Berliner Domchor), where they received systematic and outstanding musical training. Later, they pursued further vocal studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin) and the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin (Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin). Not only are they masters of refined ensemble singing, but they have also grown into accomplished solo artists, performing on prestigious stages such as the Berlin State Opera (Staatsoper Unter den Linden), the Komische Oper Berlin (Komische Oper Berlin), and the RIAS Chamber Choir (RIAS Kammerchor). In 2019, they won the first prize, the audience award, and two special prizes at the International A Cappella Competition Leipzig (Internationaler A-cappella-Wettbewerb Leipzig). With their distinctive vocal colour and original arrangements, they skilfully blend classic works from the 1950s and 1960s with famous German songs from the "Golden Twenties". Their style shifts freely between modern pop music and romantic male choral singing, staying true to classical roots while brimming with youthful energy. Their delicate, colourful vocal fusion and emotionally compelling performances will continue to captivate live audiences. This concert is presented by Shenzhen Bay Sports Center (深圳濱海藝術中心) and runs for approximately 90 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.
