About the show

This intermediate ballet course covers a full set of barre and centre practice, including Port de bras, Adage, turns and jumps, with a special emphasis on musicality training. You will comprehensively improve your dance technique, movement vocabulary, and body coordination, while also building muscle flexibility, balance, and rhythm — all while learning self-discipline and cultivating a graceful physique and elegant temperament. The course will also incorporate excerpts from classic ballets such as Swan Lake, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty, or Paquita, deepening your understanding and appreciation of classical ballet and enhancing your stage performance skills through practical application. Students who already have two years of pointe training may choose to take the class in pointe shoes to challenge themselves at a higher level of expression. This course is offered by the Academy of Performing Arts (演藝進修學院) of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (香港演藝學院), and is designed for students with at least three years of foundational ballet training, or those who have completed the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Intermediate level. The class is accompanied by live piano music throughout, allowing you to refine your skills in smooth musical rhythm. Please ensure you are physically fit for this course before enrolling.
