Frozen, Matilda, Mary Poppins... there are countless musicals beloved by children. But beyond watching performances as an audience member, have you ever thought about one day singing and dancing on stage yourself? If you want to give it a try but don't know where to start, this course is perfect for you! Throughout the programme, instructors will introduce students to a variety of musical theatre genres through acting, singing, and dancing, laying a solid foundation in the technical skills required for musical theatre. Parents will be invited to watch a class performance during the final session. So seize the opportunity—you too can shine on stage! This course is organised by the Academy for Performing Arts under the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, designed specifically for children aged 9 to 12, and falls under Slot B of the "Six-Day Summer Youth Theatre". Conducted in Cantonese or English, the intensive training allows participants to explore the diverse facets of musical theatre in just six days, building confidence and stage presence step by step under the guidance of instructors. The programme culminates in a small performance, where parents are invited to witness their children's growth and transformation firsthand—an excellent chance to experience the magic of musical theatre and discover hidden potential.
