About the show

If you were a survivor of that great fire, would you be willing to seek a shared heartbeat within the stories of strangers? "Life Echo (生命迴響)" is a special "Playback Theatre" project, a healing initiative designed for the Tai Po fire community. Here, you are both audience and protagonist — the memories and feelings you share will be transformed by the actors into a unique theatrical performance in real time. Every story is gently received, and every echo is a comfort to the soul. When we meet in stories, those unspeakable pains may slowly find an outlet through collective listening and witnessing. This project is initiated by the Yung Shu Tau Creative Arts Foundation (融樹頭創意藝術文化基金會), using improvisational theatre to help community members rebuild connections through speaking and listening. The performance has no assigned seating and no pre-set script — only sincere dialogue in the present moment. Each participant's story may become the flesh and blood on stage, while the actors respond with trust and creativity in real time. This is not just a performance, but a ritual of collective healing — in the echoes, we hear each other, and we hear ourselves anew.
