About the show
"eMBody — Flowing in Light" is an interactive 360-degree immersive 3D cinema that places participants within a sensory-responsive world, partnering with virtual dancers to weave together movement, sound, and imagery all around you. Through motion-capture recording, the installation transforms the audience from passive observers into active participants within a mixed-reality performance space — you no longer just watch, but use your body to co-create. Employing real-time body tracking and generative media, the work generates an ever-evolving choreography between the human body, data, and machine intelligence: your gestures and collective movements drive projected dancers, alter environmental visuals, and shift spatial soundscapes, producing a shared sensory experience through interactive evolution. "eMBody" is produced by Hong Kong Baptist University (香港浸會大學), integrating ultra-high-resolution visualisation, motion capture, generative imagery, and multi-person spatial tracking to create a scene that responds to audience behaviour. The installation no longer confines dance to a fixed viewing performance, but shapes a co-creative platform where the audience becomes a collaborative performer of movement, atmosphere, and meaning. The work also explores how immersive environments and interactive embodiment reshape the relationship between performers, audiences, and public space, prompting reflection on how immersive technology can foster autonomy, empathy, and shared presence in contemporary performance culture.
