About the show

Zou Shu (鄒澍)’s Mandarin stand-up comedy special “Men & Women (男女)” serves no chicken soup — just laughs. Every city has its own script for intimacy: Hong Kong’s version is “Love in a Puff (春嬌與志明),” where the push-and-pull hides in the smoky air and breakups still carry the warmth of a cha chaan teng; Taiwan’s is “At Cafe 6 (六弄咖啡館),” where youthful passion and regret are wrapped in a soft filter; mainland stories are far more varied. Zou Shu’s musings on “men and women” cross multiple cities, each deeply stamped with its urban mark. From childhood crushes to the heart-pounding thrill of secret schoolyard infatuations — a straight-guy logic colliding with fluttery emotions, all looking back as awkward, laughable memories. Settling in Shenzhen, he navigates the push-and-pull of passionate love, the love-hate dance of marriage, and the tactical battles of parenting, just like millions of urban youths wavering between ideals and reality. Can a straight-laced engineering mind ever house romance? What does love even mean in a shoebox apartment? In one hour, through secret crushes, marriage, campus life, society, family, wandering, singlism, cramped living, gender dynamics, “frog-raising,” mainland China, Hong Kong… you’ll see yourself in the laughter. Performed by Hoo Voice (呼聲) and Zou Shu (鄒澍). Zou Shu is a senior certified expression trainer and coach, founder of the IPCC International Presentation Coaching Centre, and lead translator of “The Comedy Bible (喜劇的藝術).” A straight-laced engineering grad from Harbin Institute of Technology, he’s a veteran of the stand-up scene — 17 years in the game, with thousands of commercial shows. He blends Chengdu’s hotpot spice, Shenzhen’s hustle, and Hong Kong’s milk tea aroma into his bits, delivering the upgraded specia
