About the show
This summer, join us in returning to the daily training of an actor, reconnecting with the power of physical discipline. Through simple, repetitive yet ever-expanding exercises, we will gradually deepen our bodily awareness, focus, and sensitivity, allowing every movement to carry strength and rhythm. Within a collective atmosphere, we will navigate between structured and free-form training, practising alongside fellow participants, honing our bodies and growing together through shared energy. Presented by Little Breath Cross-media Lab (小息跨媒介創作室) and led by instructor Leung Hiu-tyun (梁曉端), "Dance Field Summer Workshop: Actor Co-practice – Physical Training" is a collective workshop dedicated to returning to the actor’s daily regimen. Leung Hiu-tyun (梁曉端) is a multi-faceted artist working in performance, directing, performance coaching, and choreography. She studied Performance Training and Research at the Intercultural Theatre Institute in Singapore and is a graduate of the inaugural Master of Fine Arts in Drama (specialising in Dramaturgy) at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She currently serves as a guest lecturer at City University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Her recent performances include City Contemporary Dance Company’s *Living Up / 噏to Death*, Theatre du Pif’s *Love in the Time of Pandemic*, On & On Theatre Workshop’s *Peking Man Who Listens to Rock 2021*, Little Breath Cross-media Lab’s *Cassandra / The End of Representation* (for which she won the IATC Critics Award for Performer of the Year) and *Body Archive #001: Drifting in the Sea of Flesh*. The workshop will be conducted in Cantonese and is suitable for theatre performers and dance enthusiasts looking to deepen their bodily awareness and enhance their focus.
