About the show

The Second Session of the Smile Forest Comedy Beginner’s Stand-Up Class (第二屆笑林木人巷棟篤笑入門班) starts from zero, helping you build your very first tight five-minute stand-up comedy set! This course is perfect for anyone looking to boost their sense of humour, confidence, and on-the-spot reactions; for those wanting to try stand-up comedy for the first time; or for aspiring stand-up comedians aiming to challenge their stage skills. Whether you want to enter a stand-up competition but don’t know how to structure jokes or find punchlines, or you simply want to learn storytelling and self-expression to make your speech more engaging—this class is designed for you. Participants aged 16 or above are welcome, and complete beginners can sign up, with a limited capacity of only 20 spots. After completing the four-session course, you will have the chance to step onto a formal graduation stage for a showcase performance, delivering your very first five-minute stand-up set. Outstanding performers may even be recommended to participate in stand-up competitions, competing for prize money, exposure, and upgraded stage opportunities, or be given priority for public and commercial performances. Additionally, you can join offline Open Mic sessions to test your material, build courage, and receive feedback in front of a real audience. After class, you’ll also be added to the Gag Creation Community (搞GAG創作社群), so it’s not just a one-off—you can continue to exchange and refine jokes with others. There’s also the Smile Forest Volunteer Team (笑林義工團), giving you the chance to serve the community through humour by participating in volunteer visit performances.
