About the show

In each session, participants draw their own unique combination of elements, first experiencing the thrill of randomness before following the instructor through the "Drama Portal" (戲劇隨意門) of imagination. This leads them to scenarios far from reality, where they clash and interact with other characters, embarking on a surprising journey. The "Portal" transports participants across time and space, allowing them to directly experience the joy of becoming someone else and grasp the essence of performance. These single sessions are especially suited to beginners eager to try their hand at acting. Organised by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre (香港話劇團) Education Centre, the "Drama Portal" (戲劇隨意門) classes are conducted in Cantonese. Open to anyone aged 16 or above with no prior experience required, you are welcome to join with friends. Participants can choose to attend single or multiple sessions, guided by the instructor to spark improvisational creativity through random element combinations, discovering the spontaneous charm of performing arts and the fun of character interaction.
