In the summer of 1945, Hitler was dead, but the Pacific War still raged. Allied forces detained six of Germany's most brilliant nuclear scientists — including Nobel laureates — in a country estate on the outskirts of Cambridge. They passed the time with censored newspapers, a broken piano, and a comedy by British playwright Noël Coward, *Blithe Spirit*. But their tranquil summer was shattered by news: the Americans had succeeded, and the Germans had failed. The US had not only built the atomic bomb but had used it to bomb Japan. Unbeknownst to the scientists, every inch of the estate had been bugged, and every reaction they made was recorded. This is a stage production by Shenzhen Bay Arts Centre (深圳濱海藝術中心), starring He Jiong (何炅), Wu Bi (吳彼), Zhao Xiaosu (趙曉蘇), Zhang Lu (張露), and Wang Chenyang (王晨陽). Running approximately 115 minutes with no intermission, the play is adapted from true historical events. It delivers tight dramatic tension as scientists confront a clash of morality and conscience within a confined space — a compelling piece for history buffs and thriller fans alike.
