About the show
On September 12 and 13, the Heart Dance Company presents "Heart Dance 25th Anniversary - Like Light, Like Dance" — a dance extravaganza spanning twenty-five years, weaving light and shadow into poetry, letting the body speak a silent language. This is no ordinary performance, but two distinctly different viewing experiences: the two shows on September 12 are fully seated, inviting audiences to sit still and gaze as dancers trace every play of light and shadow with their limbs; the two shows on September 13, however, are a promenade theatre — where audiences can choose to become either "Sea" or "Mountain" at the time of ticket purchase. The "Sea" roams freely between performance zones, blending into the moving scenery; the "Mountain" remains seated, witnessing the flux with steadfast presence. Will you become the flowing sea, or the steadfast mountain? Each performance includes a post-show talk, runs approximately 1.5 hours, and features sign language interpretation, ensuring the resonance of art reaches far and wide. This commemorative work for Heart Dance Company's twenty-fifth anniversary is presented jointly by Heart Dance Company, Dancing Heart, and Heart Dance 2, bringing together three generations of dancers to look back on the past, embrace the present, and envision the future through dance. Titled "Like Light, Like Dance," the performance transforms twenty-five years of dance traces into a flow of light and shadow and a poetic body, inviting audiences to rethink the distance between art and life in the interplay of seeing and being seen. Whether you choose to sit or roam, this is a dance journey worth savoring — please note, this program is not suitable for children under six.
