About the show
The real struggle leaves no blood but cuts deep; the black-and-white world turns out to be so foreign. HKWF invites Yamile Tan (Yamile Tan) and Amanda Maldonado (Amanda Maldonado) to present the globally acclaimed flamenco work "EL GRITO". "El grito" means a cry in Spanish — a cry that is hard to tell whether it comes from pain, release, or madness. Stepping into the world of flamenco, you discover there is no dividing line between suffering and joy; dancers and musicians press closer to each other on stage, unleashing one inner storm after another with elegance and skill. They lay bare raw emotions on stage, red dresses swirling, heels striking the floor with a powerful rhythm — what lingering echoes remain in the empty theatre after the audience has left? Created by Yamille Tan (Yamille Tan), it leads you into a realm of mysterious brilliance and darkness, showcasing the full-throttle performances of the dancers and musicians.
