Premiered in 1978, "Betrayal" immediately won the Laurence Olivier Award and has been performed around the world. This Cantonese version is directed by Yau Ting-fai (邱廷輝), Assistant Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre (香港話劇團), who leads the cast in exploring the cautiousness of "Pinteresque silence," bringing the tug-of-war between subtext and pause onto the stage, allowing the audience to feel the omnipresent tension and unease of this love triangle.
